The Americana Festival Committee is excited bring the Centerville – Washington Township community together again for a wonderful festival this year.
This year’s Americana Festival begins with a bang on July 3rd the night BEFORE the Festival at the Centerville High School Stadium, 500 E. Franklin Street. A variety of food vendors will be on hand at the stadium entrance.
The celebration continues on Monday, July 4th with The Up and Running / RecPlex-Americana 5k Run/Walk, which is once again hosted by the Centerville Noon Optimist Club.
Following the 5K Run, grab a spot on Franklin Street and enjoy the Americana Parade beginning at 10:00am. Showcasing more than 120 units, the parade features numerous bands, floats, mobile and walking units. This year’s parade promises to be bigger and better than ever before.
Arts and Crafts and Food are always a major attraction at the Americana Festival and this year we are going big with the Americana Street Fair (MAP on homepage)
The Centerville-Washington Township Americana Festival started in 1972 as a sidewalk sale promoted by the city's downtown merchants. Typically more than 85,000 people will attend the festival and more than 100 volunteers will be working behind the scenes to make it all happen. In 2011 the Festival was the winner of the Best of Dayton Award for 4th of July events. Read more about the Americana Festival.
