Award Winning Centerville Teacher Jackie Harvey to Serve as Grand Marshal

 

Meet our Grand Marshal

 

Jackie Harvey is a fourth grade teacher at Normandy Elementary School and the Centerville City School District nominee for the 2015 Ohio Department of Education’s Teacher of the year.  A native of Dayton, Jackie holds a degree in Elementary Education from Wright State University. She has taught fourth grade at Normandy Elementary since 1999.

 

Ms. Harvey has worked with colleagues throughout the school district in several professional capacities including: Professional Development Presenter; Curriculum Committees; Building Leadership Team for School Improvement Planning; Mentor to entry level teachers; and one of the Building Representatives for CCTA, the district’s local union.  

 

Her community efforts include serving on the Board of Directors for Hannah’s Treasure Chest, a non-profit organization serving local children in need. As Alpha Club Advisor, a youth division of the Optimist Club, she involved students with outreach projects to serve children in need both locally, and at a distance. This year, she initiated a service project with her class benefitting T.J.’s Place of Hope, a non-profit organization reaching out to local teens with depression and addictive behaviors. 

 

Jackie and husband Brian have three daughters and reside in Springboro.
